The GENESIS software environment offers a new way to create sounds, and design compositions by means of digital simulation of vibrating objects.
This method has been experimented for many years by many composers who have created magical worlds.
Claude Cadoz will present and explain several of his creations made with GENESIS and for the realization of which he has developed a wide variety of methods and processes.
For each piece, it will perform an analysis of the creation and composition processes that can not be implemented today in any other digital music creation environment.
He will explain in detail some instrumental and musical solutions to create and to compose with GENESIS but especially also, how the proposed methods lead very often to incredible and marvelous discoveries, without any equivalent nowhere else.
So, the computer principles being inherently memory and sharing, we can observe, analyze, understand and learn together to reproduce, transform, combine such new materials. One can thus enjoy without limitation all that has been invented before, by oneself and by others, and continue the journey by composing and creating by ownself.
In this Master Class, it is about listening, seeing, touching new instrumental sounds that have been designed, and explaining, to the finest detail, how it works and how we do, and how we can imagine new ones.
So, the last musical piece « Quetzalcoatl » is more than a piece. It is an experimental musical world, which one can explore, continue to build and appropriate.
Artistic appoaches and exploration of the practices in musical creation and composition from the musical and visual artworks Gaea, Helios and Quetzalcoatl, by Claude Cadoz.
Listening and analysis of several artworks composed with the GENESIS software.
Limited to 20 participants
The Master Class is open to all people, experts and non-experts, who wish to be informed and initiated on the creative processes in contemporary musical creations, which seek to reconnect with the physical character of musical instruments and the richness of natural sounds in the computer and digital context.
